DMC eNews Reports on DMC Action Network Efforts
DMC eNews is an electronic newsletter that reports on how the 12 DMC Action Network sites are reducing racial and ethnic disparities in their juvenile justice systems. The brief newsletter is designed to spread the word about strategic innovations that successfully reduce Disproportionate Minority Contact, or DMC.
The sites in the DMC Action Network are among the leaders in DMC reduction in the United States. Each issue of DMC eNews includes features on DMC reduction, links to useful resources, and a profile of a DMC Action Network site that illustrates the successes and lessons learned at that site.

Karen Tucker and Becky Smith of Union County, North Carolina, have released their first newsletter addressing DMC reduction efforts and accomplishments in that jurisdiction. Union County is a MacArthur Foundation DMC Action Network partner site.
The National Juvenile Defender Center honored CCLP Executive Director Mark Soler at its annual summit in October 2009 with a Recognition Award for his work in helping to lay the organization's foundation. Mark served as a member of the Board of Directors and President of NJDC, which celebrates its fifth anniversary as an independent organization this year.
The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) released a new bulletin presenting findings from the National Survey of Children’s Exposure to Violence, the most comprehensive survey to date of children’s exposure to violence in the United States. The bulletin, Children’s Exposure to Violence: A Comprehensive National Survey [pdf], discusses the survey’s findings and the implications for policymakers, researchers, and practitioners who work with juvenile victims of violence.
